Having joined Brown Butler in 1980 and been a Director and Principal since 1987 I have many long-term relationships with my clients giving me a thorough understanding of their business and enabling me to provide ongoing advice for all kinds of scenarios including exit, strategic planning for exit or growth of the business, or the introduction of new investors, to name just a few areas.
I have a strong reputation in the market place for providing strategic advice and support and introducing new opportunities to my clients, many of whom have developed their organisations as a result of these initiatives.
I work with larger corporates (revenue in excess of £50m) as well as many privately-owned companies and family businesses in a wide range of sectors. I have many unusual and fascinating clients including an energy group, an electricity supplier, a company assisting other organisations with their anti-money laundering procedures and a dental lab., to mention just a few.
I also specialise in advising clients in the waste management sector including those with their own recycling plant to others dealing with more specific waste management activities including batteries and electrical products, a service which embraces conducting audits to assess compliance with the Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) and Battery Regulations.
I have also supported a number of overseas companies, particularly from Italy who now operate in the UK providing advice on such matters as compliance and vat.
Having qualified as a chartered accountant my attention was drawn towards the area of taxation so I also qualified as a chartered tax adviser too. As such I now work extensively with our Tax Director, Craig Hughes, on a wide range of tax matters.
